Morningside Group is the owner and operator of a luxury apartment community in Highwood/Highland Park. We seek an enthusiastic, self motivated leasing Agent with strong leasing skills to maintain the excellence of the property and maximize resident retention and occupancy. This opportunity requires an individual that is capable of balancing both leasing and office administrative responsibilities. The position also requires strong communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate works well with minimal supervision, is a team player, takes initiative, and is willing to work flexible hours as necessary to get the job done.

The responsibilities of the Leasing Agent include, but are not limited to:

- Marketing and leasing of apartments, including answering phone calls, responding to phone inquiries and internet leads, scheduling prospect tours, touring prospects, closing leases, and maximizing lease renewals

- Maintain daily traffic logs, phone logs, and prospect database; perform diligent follow-up on all prospect leads, including phone, internet and in-person

- Conduct regular market surveys; maintain knowledge of the market, surrounding competition, and local community

- Assist the marketing manager with Craigslist postings, review of internet listings, and posting of available units

- Provide outstanding customer service to residents and prospects

- Process applications, landlord verifications, and review income qualification documentation in a timely manor.

- Processing move-in and move-out inspections with residents

- Assist the property manager with resident retention activities and resident events

- Maintain compliance with Fair Housing

- Process maintenance requests, coordinate with maintenance, and follow up to ensure timely completion or work orders

- Respond to all building emergencies and coordinate contractor and maintenance repairs in conjunction with other staff

- Ensure rents and RUB are collected when due and posted in property management software in a timely manner

- Ensure lease files are complete and properly executed

- Responsible for general office and administrative duties in conjunction with the office assistant and property manager

- Physically walk and inspect the model, office, fitness center, and overall condition of property on a daily basis

- Enforce property policies and resolve all customer concerns

- All other activities as requested by your supervisor

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
One plus year of leasing experience in the multifamily housing industry

Ability to work in a fast pace atmosphere

Demonstrated verbal, written, and organizational skills

Demonstrated computer skills

Leasing license preferred but not required

Must be willing to work weekends
